PREPARATION AND SINTERING OF W-20%Wt Cu COMPOSITE POWDERS PRODUCED BY CO-PRECIPITATION METHOD
Authors
Abstract:
Abstract: materials can be fabricated by sintering of W-Cu composite powders. In this research W-20%wt Cu composite powderswas synthesized via a co-precipitation method. Precipitate obtained from a mixture of copper nitrate and ammoniumparatungstate (APT) in distilled water contained W-Cu compounds. This precipitate was washed, dried and calcinedat 550 of dried precipitate powder was determined by thermogravimetry (TG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and X-raydiffraction (XRD). The sintering of the reduced powders was investigated as a function of temperature. Relative densityof more than 98% obtained for the powders sintered at 1200close to theoretical calculations. The hardness of the sintered powders was 320 Vickers.W-Cu composites are widely used as contacts, heat sinks and electro discharge electrodes. These kinds of°C in air and then reduced in H2 atmosphere in order to convert to W-Cu powders. The calcination temperature°C . The corresponding electrical conductivity was too

SYNTHESIS OF AL2O3-NI COMPOSITE POWDERS BY CO-PRECIPITATION METHOD
The synthesis of micro-sized, uniformly distributed Al2O3-15Vol% Ni powders were studied through three step co-precipitation of hydroxides mixtures from proper solution, calcination at air atmosphere and final step of calcined powders in a carbon bed. Al and Ni hydroxide and amorphous phase were first obtained from their salt’s solutions through chemical co-precipitation method by adjusti...
full textSintering and Characterizations of WC-20wt.% (Fe,Co) Nano-Structured Powders Developed by Ball-Milling
The aim of the present work is to study the effects of the nanostructured WC-20 wt. % (Fe,Co) with different ratios of iron to cobalt on the microstructure and hardness of sintered samples. Furthermore, a sample with a cobalt binder under the same condition was produced for the comparison purposes. The nanocomposite development, after different milling times, has been monitored by means of X-ra...
full textSintering of Al2O3–Ceo2nanopowder Prepared by Co-Precipitation Method
In the present work, Al2O3-CeO2 composite nanopowders were synthesized via co-precipitation method. The sinterability of the synthesized powders was investigated. The results showed that the transformation of transition phases of alumina to α-Al2O3 takes place at 1200 °C. TEM images showed that the powders was composed of nanoparticles in the range of 30−70 nm. The densification of composites s...
full textLuminescence Properties Of Pure CaSO4 Nanoparticles Produced By Co- Precipitation Method
Thermoluminecsence (TL) characteristics of pure CaSO4 nanoparticles produced by co-precipitation method are presented. The formation of the nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). TL glow curve of this phosphor, exposed to gamma radiation exhibits five overlapping glow peaks in the complex glow curve at 463, 470, 483, 498 and521(K) respecti...
full textSynthesis of MgTiO3 Powder Via Co-Precipitation Method and Investigation of Sintering Behavior
A co-precipitation method was used for synthesis of pure MgTiO3 ceramic powder with Mg(NO3)2.6H2O, TiCl4 or C12H28O4Ti and NaOH as raw materials. In this method, solutions of 1 M, Mg (NO3)2 6H2O and 2 M, NaOH were prepared. A stoichiometric amount of Ti precursors from TiCl4 or C12H28O4Ti was weighted. Solutions of Mg (NO3)2. 6H2O and Ti precursor were added dropwise to NaOH solution unde...
full textSynthesis and characterization of SnO2 nanoparticles by Co-Precipitation method
Tin oxide (SnO2)nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation method and the synthesized nanoparticles were annealed at different temperatures for characterization. The powders were investigated with X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and optical spectroscopy. The structural characterization was carried out by X-ray diffraction which confirms the crystalline nature ...
